Hotel Magnifique by Emily J. Taylor is the official August 2024 pick for the Peanut Blossom Book Club for Recovering Readers.
Several years ago, we read Caraval as part of our 2017 book club line-up. It was one of my favorites from that year so when I spotted this month’s pick I was intrigued.
The book description said this one was “perfect for fans of Caraval and The Night Circus,” two of my personal favorites.
As we head into the final month of summer, I thought this magical romance would be the perfect transition into fall. If you’re looking for a book to share with your teens, this YA pick would be a fun choice before they head back to school!

What is Hotel Magnifique About?
“All her life, Jani has dreamed of Elsewhere. Just barely scraping by with her job at a tannery, she’s resigned to a dreary life in the port town of Durc, caring for her younger sister, Zosa. That is, until the Hotel Magnifique comes to town.

I think it is so fun to plan your book club dinner menu or dessert list based on the theme of the book.
